On Saturday we got to see two All-Stars fight it out with San Jose Sharks Joe Thornton vs Dallas Stars Jamie Benn and it was nothing spectacular but a good spirited bout. Benn had a Gordie Howe hat trick in this game.

Frazer McLaren does well against giant John Scott
Last Thursday, Maple Leafs tough guy Frazer McLaren did well in a fight against Sabres giant John Scott with some short jabs and managed to mark up Scott’s face as well. The Sabres keep losing this season and their tough guy gets another loss against a Maple Leafs player.
Big hockey fight KOs this season
We have seen some big KOs so far this season. Here are two of the more recent ones with Lightning’s B.J. Crombeen getting KO’d by Flyers Zac Rinaldo and Sabres John Scott KO’ing Bruins Shawn Thornton.

Jordin Tootoo is bringing toughness back to Detroit
Jordin Tootoo is no Bob Probert but he’s bringing something to Detroit that they haven’t had much of for a long time and that’s some toughness. Tootoo already has three fights and some big hits this season. Tootoo’s best fight was against a much bigger Brenden Dillon of the Dallas Stars. Check it out below.

Brad Stuart’s big hit on Gabriel Landeskog, then ensuing fight
Last night we saw the hit of the year so far with Sharks Brad Stuart absolutely destroying Avalanche star Gabriel Landeskog with a big hit. Avalanche Ryan O’Byrne instigated a fight with Stuart after the hit. Watch the action below. Will Shanahan suspend Stuart? I thought it was a good hit but Stuart does make contact with Landeskog’s head so who knows. What do you think will happen?
Milan Lucic drops Matt Carkner with punch
If you didn’t see the Bruins Milan Lucic vs Islanders Matt Carkner fight from Friday, then you missed a good fight as Lucic dropped Carkner with a big punch. Watch the fight below.
Colton Orr gets rematch vs Deryk Engelland
This is no doubt a candidate for fight of the year as Leafs Colton Orr got a rematch against the guy who knocked him down back in 2010. Both guys traded bombs in this one, as you can see some punches squarely landed on them both. Engelland had a mark under his right eye after the fight and could barely keep that eye open. Leafs Colton Orr is back in the NHL and making a bang in his first second game back by making Sabres giant John Scott go down to his knees with a body punch. Watch the videos below for each telecast. Warning for the Sabres broadcast where homerism is always high all the time as Rob Ray says that Scott lost his balance, that’s why he went down. Yea ok Rob, maybe you’ve been punched too many times, that’s why you came to that conclusion.

No NHL hockey fights but we see goalie fights around the world
With no NHL season us fight fans are disappointed that we may not see one NHL fight this year. So instead, from the AHL to hockey leagues in other countries, there have been a few goalie fights breaking out.
In the SPHL, at the end of Pensacola Ice Flyers beating the Mississippi Surge 4-3, we had a good goalie fight between Ice Flyers goalie Ross MacKinnon and Surge goalie Kiefer Smiley. Check it out.
