Good fight: Krys Barch vs Colton Orr

Here is another good fight this season with Dallas Stars tough guy Krys Barch vs Toronto Maple Leafs tough guy Colton Orr from November 22, 2010. Orr with the decision in this one, landing a lot more punches than Barch did.

Darcy Hordichuk vs Shawn Thornton fight of the year so far?

If you saw Thursday’s game between the Florida Panthers and Boston Bruins then you saw possibly the best fight of the season so far, with Darcy Hordichuk and Shawn Thornton slugging it out. Both guys landed some bombs and when it ended both guys had marks to show. Thornton had a bloody nose while Hordichuk had a bruised left eye and a nasty cut under his left eye.

Boulton vs Erskine probably fight of the year so far

In tonight’s Atlanta Thrashers-Washington Capitals game, besides all the goals being scored, there was a real good heavyweight bout between Thrashers Eric Boulton and Capitals John Erskine. Both guys traded bombs with each other and it looked like some landed on each other. Nice fight, I give that one a draw. Watch it below and let us know what you think.

Oilers and Rangers brawl during ‘Kids Day’ at MSG

In a game where heavyweights Steve MacIntyre and Derek Boogaard fought each other twice, you would think that would be the talk of the game, well leave it to Sean Avery to get the attention. Not a surprise. In the third period, MacIntyre and Boogaard squared off twice, with Boogaard getting the edge in the first one and the second fight was probably more of a draw. You can watch those fights down below.

Later in the third period, the fun started. The game was at 5-2 with the Rangers leading. Avery laid out Colin Fraser with a clean check and Ladislav Smid challenged Avery to fight. Avery declined twice and then decided to drop the gloves and got a quick punch on Smid which sent Smid to the ice. Some are calling it a sucker punch. I’m not sure it was a sucker punch but it is close to being one.

After the Smid-Avery fight they went to a commercial but when they came back the commentators tell us that all hell broke loose. On his way off the ice Avery was going to the runway and Ryan Whitney came over with some words for him and then Theo Peckham went over trying to get at Avery. That’s when everything broke out. Zack Stortini and Brandon Prust got together and had a long fight while Brian Boyle paired off with Peckham. For some reason Fraser was going at it with the Rangers bench, mainly Brandon Dubinsky. As Rangers players tried to get at Fraser from the bench, coach John Tortorella was trying to hold back Dubinsky and other Rangers. You can watch all the mayhem down below. I guess it’s too bad these teams only meet once this year. And this afternoon game was “Kids Day” at MSG, go figure.

Bruins did a number on Phil Kessel

I don’t know what the Boston Bruins did, besides play physical and limiting his time and space when he had the puck, when they shut down Maple Leafs sniper Phil Kessel on October 28th, but Kessel hasn’t been the same since that game. Counting the Leafs-Bruins game to tonight’s loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning, Kessel has gone 6 games without a point.

In the last 6 games, here are Kessel’s combined stats from those games: 0 goals, 0 assists, 0 points, -3 rating, with 16 shots on net. So maybe teams have finally seen what the Bruins do to Kessel to shut him down? The Bruins shut him down last season though but I guess team’s didn’t take a look? I don’t know, maybe it’s just the way the Maple Leafs are playing right now. The Leafs are 0-4-2 in those 6 games.

So why do you think Kessel is having a hard time finding the back of the net?

As a Bruins fan, all I can say is… thank you Kessel!

Sidney Crosby fights Matt Niskanen

Gary Bettman must have been pissing his pants when he saw his golden boy Sidney Crosby drop the gloves in the Penguins-Stars game tonight. Yeah you read that right, Crosby started a fight with another non-fighter, this time against Stars’ defenseman Matt Niskanen. Watch the fight below.

“I never saw that coming,” Niskanen said. “We were up 4-1, he was trying to get the team going a little bit, he asked me to go, and we went. I got him hard once in the helmet, if that counts. But he’s very strong on his skates and he probably had the upper hand a little bit.”

The Rosby ass kissers aka Penguins fans are already on YouTube and HockeyFights.com saying he is the toughest guy and the best at everything blah blah blah. I’ll tell you what he is the best at picking on non-fighters. Way to go Rosby you won the fight against a guy who doesn’t fight but you’re team got their ass handed to them 5-2.
